VALENTINE'S DAY (Creyton)

Picture
LAUGHTER THE BEST INDICATION
It's been many years since I heard an audience break into spontaneous laughter at a plot-motivated line or action and have it continue, without being milked, for well over twenty seconds - and that's a long time on stage! However, that pleasant situation occurred several times during Barry Creyton's new farce, Valentine's Day.
Within a minute of the play opening, before any dialogue, there's a bit of totally unexpected business which so shocks the audience, they involuntarily burst into the first gale of prolonged laughter.
Act two is a non-stop, out of control rollercoaster ride to disaster with those laughs coming thick and fast.

NO FURY LIKE A MAN SCORNED
An hilarious, ludicrous and highly improbable play about love, fury, revenge and greed. (The play) goes from strength to strength as the audience is bounced and hurtled along from once ridiculous situation to the next. This play is one that should not be missed.

Dazzlingly witty and always hilariously funny... Valentine's Day has more to do with a planned Valentine's Day massacre than love.  If you want a thoroughly good laugh, or two, of three, go see this consummately well written, directed and played farce.

MAY THE FARCE BE WITH YOU
Thank goodness there's still a very real place for good farce in today's theatre. Creyton's views of marriage, sex and revenge ... a genuinely funny piece of theatre that exposes some interesting, seldom discussed aspects of a number of the seven deadly sins.
